Q: Does UTAU run on Mac?

A: Currently, not as of yet. There is however a version in development.

Q: Why isn't my UTAU singing?!

A: Did you highlight the area you want it to sing? UTAU does not play in real time like VOCALOID.

Q: Why can't my UTAUloid sing UST's in hiragana/romaji? My computer is in Japanese, and the characters even show up, but no singing!

A: Odds are, you forgot to alias your samples. If you add hiragana/romaji alias' to each of your samples, your UTAUloid should be able to sing it.

Q: Why can't I open UST files in Audacity?

A: Audacity, or any other recording program for this matter does not recognize UST files. You must export your work as a .wav file, then import that.

Q: Is it possible to use VSQ's in UTAU?

A: Yes. Go to the "File" tab, then click "Import". Go to the location of the desired VSQ, then click "Open". From there, select the vocal track you wish to open, as UTAU only allows you to work on one at a time.

Q: Is it possible to turn a UST into a VSQ?

A: Also yes. Go to the "File" tab, then click "Export". Pull down the drop down list and select ".VSQ". Note that only pitch bends in Mode 1 will transfer over to VOCALOID however.

Q: How do I add music to the vocals?

A: This is something that has to be done external from UTAU in a program like Audacity or FL studio. Import the .wav into one of them.

Q: What are those ACPT, P2P3, P1P4, OPT, and RESET buttons for?

A: quick breakdown:

ACPT, sets the STP and fixes Enveloping for you.

P2P3, acts like a cross-fade button.
P1P4, Not positive what to call it, but it smooths things out, and works best with CV banks.
OPT, If you play a set of notes, then press OPT while they are still selected, it will finalize the STP and fix the Vibrato.
RESET resets the envelope for the parts of the UST that you have selected.

Good combo to use for CV bank: (Ctrl+A), RESET, ACPT, P1P4, ACPT.
